We had a pleasant surprise today as we spotted
the first of the seal pups in the late afternoon. This
is the earliest that we have had pups born to our knowledge
but we are pleased to announce that mother and pup are
doing well |

Best wishes to our friends from Orange in
Australia. Keep watching Hamish! |

It's been a cold start to the season but there have
been some good bright days and some calm waters. We've
been seeing more and more Common Seals as they begin to
gather in their favourite spots for pupping. The time
for pupping is fast approaching so watch this space. |
| |
|
We've also been rewarded with some great sightings
of otters, both juvenile and adult. We are recording an
increased number of sightings this year already so they
seem to have had a good winter, despite the January hurricane. |
| |
|
In the last two weeks we've also seen Eider ducklings
and also, on 25 May, some Greylag goslings. |
| |
|
The jellyfish are starting to arrive, both Moon and
some small Lion's Mane. |
| |
|
Our regular Great Northern Divers have returned and
have been spotted out on the loch. |
| |
|
Local fishermen have also reported both Bottlenose Dolphins
and Puffins recently. |
| |
|
We're already thinking ahead to the summer and hoping
to be running some extra cruises in the evenings. We will
also be running some charity events throughout the season.
Keep an eye open for dates, etc, and if you would like
to hire the Argus for a private cruise, please contact
us for details. |

It's been great to see so many visitors,
both old and new, and we look forward to seeing you
on board again soon. Best wishes to our Finnish friends
who came to see Hamish Macbeth Coubtry recently and
also to Tom Owen and friends — sorry that we'd
just finished the Last of the summer Wine. Slainte! |

The Argus made its first seal trip of
the season at 10:00am this morning, the start of the
Easter Weekend. This is the earliest we have set sail
for a new season, but the seals were waiting for us. |
