I am happy to confirm that one
of the episodes in Series 2 of HAMISH MACBETH (In Search
of a Rose) was inspired by the press cutting about plastic
seals which is displayed in your shop window.
Writer Stuart Hepburn read the article which gave him
the initial idea for this episode. As you know, he used
regular characters from the series and elaborated the
story considerably, but we have always acknowledged
that the ‘plastic whale’ element of the
plot was inspired by your story. I am enclosing the
information we released to the press at the time of
transmission.
It was good to hear from you again. As I said, plans
are afoot for a Plockton reunion before too long —
we've all missed you and send our love.
