Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to book?
It is advisable to book on-line especially at busy times. There may be last minute availability if you go to the boat but to guarantee a place you are best to book.
Can I change my booking?
We will always try to change a reservation but if its very last minute and we are unable to sell the ticket, we would need to charge.
Can I pay by card?
Yes we can take card payments on line or board.
Do you have a family ticket?
Yes, we have a family ticket.
What if the boat trip is cancelled?
If we have to cancel the trip for any reason, you will receive a full refund.
Can I take a baby?
Yes – It is quite safe to take a baby on board.
Can I take a dog?
Yes — we are dog friendly, as long as they are well behaved and on a lead. We take a maximum of three dogs on board so please book online where there is a facility to check in a free place for your dog.
Can I take a bag?
You can carry on a small day pack but when busy we do not have room for rucksacks or suitcases.
Where do we leave from?
Departure points vary with the tides we either leave from the main pier (IV52 8TL) through the village, or the pontoon at the car park (IV52 8TP). Please see notice at our gift shop and information point in the centre of the village (IV52 8TN) for latest information.
When do I have to arrive by?
Please arrive in plenty of time to park up. The main pier is a 10 minute walk from the main car park.
Is there parking available?
The main car park is beside one of the departure points so if you have mobility issues you should time your trip to leave from there. Please note that this is an invitation to pay only, so if you are running late ,don’t worry.
Do you guarantee seals?
No – no-one can guarantee seals but we do guarantee you won’t need to pay if you don’t see seals.
Will we see otters?
Otters are harder to find but we do have regular sightings.
What else will we see?
Herons, eider ducks, oyster catchers, eagles, sea eagles, dolphin and porpoise. We’ve even seen puffins early in the season.
Do you do fishing trips?
No – sorry, we do not do sea fishing.
Is there a toilet on board?
Yes – there is a toilet on board but please note there are steps down to it.
Do you have disabled facilities?
We are sorry, we do not have disabled facilities. Please be aware there are steps up on to the boat but we are here to help so please come and see us to discuss how we can accommodate you.
Can I take a wheelchair on board?
We have had wheelchairs on board but please come and see us when you get to Plockton to discuss. Wheelchair users would need to be able to weight bear.
Are there refreshments available?
We are not currently providing refreshments but please check for updates on this.
Can buy a Gift Voucher?
Yes — you can purchase a gift voucher online through our booking system.
